My writing samples.
Over the last bunch of years, I have written for a number of different publications. I started out as a newspaper reporter when I graduated college, covering stories for both weekly and daily publications. Since that time, I gradually moved into the "behind the scenes" area of print, and I've maintained a number of writing assignments, too.

Since 1998, I have been writing for Haddon House, a food distributor based in Medford, NJ. I worked in the art department for about 4 years, and after I left, I continued to do a good deal of writing for their magazine, The Creative Merchandiser, a bimonthly publication geared to help the company's sales force. For each issue, I write two articles: one on a specialty food item (like roasted red peppers, olives, tea, etc.) and/or trends in marketing specialty foods; the second is a column called Organic Living, which covers current events in food trends from an organic point of view. I explore topics like the use of genetically modified organisms, hormones and antibiotics usage in animal farming, obesity in children, the politics of coffee production, organic packaging, and the current fascination with protein consumption (and subsequent disdain for carbohydrates).

To the left, you'll find a number of my most recent Haddon House columns.

I graduated college in 1992, and found that my college's student newspaper, The Signal had far more technology than any of the papers I worked for in the real world over the next few years! As such, I don't have very many electronic records of my early newspaper work. I have hard copies of my clips, however, so if you would like to see some of my newspaper work, please email me to request samples. I'm in the process of scanning/retyping some of my earlier work and I'll upload it as soon as I can.

Thanks for looking!
