| The Light Switch Plate I started decorating light switches years ago. Usually with cool paper samples I got from the printers who courted us at work. The house I'm living in now had the worst -- hands-down, the worst light switch plates -- I have ever seen. I'm sure they're really fancy by someone's standards, but to me, they were hideous, and they made me feel irritable whenever I had to go near one. So I reworked ALL of them. Some are like this one, pictured above. Remember those green gems-turned olives I mentioned somewhere else on this site? Well, I glued them all over another switch plate. One has beads piled on. Another has wood cut outs and glow in the dark stars. Some I like better than other. But they're all better than what was here originally.
The leaves are gingko; the green paper is handmade, but I didn't make it. |
