Where are they now? |
The Death Watch. Remember that sick, sick list we made back in 1992? Well, while we were in the process of moving, I stumbled across it. So much has happened in the world since 1992 that I thought it would only be fitting to take a moment to reflect. And share with you. Here's the list of our "votes," along with death dates, where applicable, in the order in which we made the list. Red denotes a dead celebrity. Bill Bretzger: Katharine Hepburn (June 2003) Chrissy Ott: Art Linkletter, Gerald Ford Kim Palmer: George Burns (3/96), Harry Helmsley (1/97) Michael Burton: Michael Jackson (doesn't he die a little each day?) Linda Olsen: Darryl Strawberry, Ann B. Davis Beau Phillips: Axl Rose Phil Mindler: Lorenzo Lamos Chris Periera: William Shatner, Mr. Rogers (2/03), Bob Cole Heidi Heleniak: Ed McMahon, Rodney Dangerfield (10/04), Leona Helmsley Bill Hawley: Carol Channing, Barry Gibb, Milton Berle (3/02), McLean Stevenson (2/96) John Patterson: John Denver (10/97) Dan Kildea: The Village People [in a plane crash], Mr. Brady (5/92) Jen Gehan: Bob Hope [on stage](7/03) Renee Tourscher: Donny Osmond Dennis P. Carmody: Richard Nixon (4/94), Jimmy Stewart (7/97), Orville Redenbacher (9/95) Suzie Demonsthenes: Ginger Rogers (4/95), Frank Sinatra (5/98), Jerry Lewis [during a telethon, loads of people will call in and donate money and there will never be another telethon again.) Bob Schulties: John Cleese, Tony Randall (5/04) Poe Hermansky: Eddie Murphy, Helen Hayes (3/93) Chrissi O'Donnell: Jeremy Irons Hal Kay: Queen Elizabeth Tracy Tazza: Elizabeth Taylor Gordon Pepper: Wilt Chamberlain (10/99), Bob Goldthwait Mike Fabey: Bill Clinton, of AIDS Doug Larkin: Walter Kronkite Sharen Luetkemeyer: Jimmy Stewart (7/97), Carrol O'Connor (6/01) Notes: Dan, clearly, you "won;" you picked the first celebrity to die. However, Dennis P., you are worth mentioning for the simple reason that each of your three nominees is dead. I emailed this out to a bunch of former Signalites in August of 2004, and then was able to catch up with a couple of other people in October of 2004. I'm still missing email addresses for a bunch of you, and would love to hear from you. Feel free to drop me a note. An invaluable resource for keeping up with these celebrities: deadoraliveinfo.com I hope you're all doing better than these celebrities! |
