| What's the deal with all the mirrors?! I decorate a lot of mirrors. Only two are shown on this site, but there are a bunch of them out there, with friends, family and floating around my house. This one was the first. A huge endeavor, and I can think of a gazillion things I'd do differently, but it gets a lot of compliments. My fascination with mirrors came about at an early age. I was vain, sure. I was a little girl, after all. But I wasn't vain in the way that most little girls are vain. The fondness of mirrors came about as a result of a "do I have food in my teeth" phobia. Friends lie (you know who you are). Mirrors -- especially pretty ones -- do not. Consider: Do not use a glue gun. You will undoubtedly burn yourself, after all, there are SO many things to glue down. And you will be very disappointed when the gems start falling off for no reason. Glue guns are great for other projects, but not this one. Also, I painted my background board first. That's about the only smart thing I did with this damn mirror. It might be best to work on a large table, rather than a floor, especially a carpeted floor, because the "give" of the carpet made two mirrors break (luckily before I got too far) when I applied a slight bit of pressure. That sucked. | Materials and Tools. Glass Gems (or rocks, marbles, sea glass, etc.) Large Mirror Heavy Duty Adhesive Paint Wood or some other similar strong material for the base
